Edition One is a collection of designs that offer conceptual sophistication and contemporary sensibility, brought to life through collaborations with a diverse group of designers who have all previously contributed their creativity and talent to Tai Ping. All designs in this collection are expertly tufted by Tai Ping artisans.
Marie Bastide
Trained as a textile designer in Paris and Helsinki, Marie Bastide first learned the art and craft of floor covering while working for three years at Tai Ping Carpets. Now with her own design business where she has become known for a lyrical eye with a pop of whimsy, she has collaborated with such industry leaders as Bruno Borrione, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, India Mahdavi and Alberto Pinto. Bastide cultivates the art of detail and discovers the subtle work of creative interpretation, giving substance to clients’ dreams while still respecting the medium’s technical constraints.
