Elias Crespin combines his passion for art and science to create and animate modular geometric structures. His installations consist of arrangements of metal hand-formed elements or single elements in geometric shapes, which are suspended in mid-air by nearly invisible nylon threads. They constantly shift and mutate, producing highly nuanced choreographic effects that question the concept of form, space, movement and time. For Designer Days in Paris in 2014, Crespin collaborated with Tai Ping to present an interactive experience titled “From Thread and Air” that combined the energy of shapes, lines, tones and tension.
