Agnès Comar opened her first boutique in Paris in 1971, disrupting conventions with carefully-shaped cushions that earned her international acclaim. Drawing inspiration from distant places such as Mediterranean shores, the Far East and the world’s capitals, Comar combines a passion for textiles with a pronounced appreciation for poetry and elegance. In the early 1990s, she began interior architecture work for luxury brands including Cartier, Mumm Champagne, Chaumet and Jil Sander, later taking on projects ranging from homes to law offices and yachts. Comar collaborated with Tai Ping to create sculpted rugs designs for the Galerie collection.
